Healthy Debates Make Hearts Race at ACC

While the ‘healthy’ debate with Senator Grassely over an alleged late release of data from the ENHANCE trial raised some blood pressures at ACC’s 57th Annual Scientific Session, activity on the trade show floor was also pumping as attendees witnessed new unveilings of cutting-edge technology.

Terumo showed off its newest 'durable tip' guidewire, while Mortara announced it will integrate its ECG systems with ScImage and McKesson IT solutions. St. Jude Medical extended its CRT-D and Current ICD features with a new lead, and Sony rolled out its line of digital color printers for cardiac imaging.

Boston Scientific took center stage to tout positive results from Taxus in treating large vessels, while drug-coated balloons challenged DES on restenosis in the PEPCAD study.
